I am a self-taught photographer with deeply rooted interests for the high mountains. It is probably the complexity what I like about it the most. The harsh climate, impervious structures and difficult terrain to move through makes it very unfriendly for the existance of life. Perhaps that is the attraction, it can give kind of an otherworldly feeling, the unattainable.
For this reason it makes sense that my photography revolves around this subject. It's here where I shoot most of my work, my biggest source of inspiration. With photography I can further develop these landscapes into something that in my eyes has the right proportions, rhythm and are free from disruptive factors. The whole process from seeing an image' up to a final printed photo is very important.
It is somewhat the search for structure within the mind. A good composition is essential to have peace with the image.
I work with fixed focal lenses and only manual focus. They ensure that I can’t just point and shoot, it makes my workflow nice and slow.
